From April 13 to 16, 2026, a delegation from Khazar University held business meetings at several leading higher education institutions in Türkiye — Sabancı University, Yeditepe University, Istanbul Technical University, Boğaziçi University, and Koç University. The primary objectives were to expand academic cooperation, develop joint scientific research projects, promote student and faculty exchange, and strengthen international partnership ties.
The visit commenced on April 13 with a meeting at Sabancı University. The delegation, led by Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees of Khazar University, included the University’s Rector Dr. Razia Isaeva, Dean of the Graduate School of Science, Art and Technology Dr. Gunel Bahaddinova, and Dean of the School of Science and Engineering Dr. Fakhranda Afandiyeva. Meetings with Sabancı University’s leadership covered academic cooperation, student and faculty exchange, as well as joint research and innovation projects. The delegation also visited the university’s leading research laboratories and received briefings on the scientific activities conducted there.
On April 14, the delegation visited Yeditepe University. Following a meeting with Rector Prof. Mehmet Durman, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the two parties. The meetings addressed the development of academic relations, the establishment of dual degree programs, and the expansion of scientific research cooperation. A visit to the biotechnology laboratory was also included in the program.
On April 15, the delegation visited Istanbul Technical University and Boğaziçi University. At Istanbul Technical University, discussions focused on the establishment of dual degree programs at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels, the strengthening of scientific cooperation, and joint research opportunities. The laboratories of the Faculty of Computer and Informatics Engineering were also visited. On the same day, at Boğaziçi University, an exchange of views on academic cooperation prospects took place with representatives of the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Institute, as well as the International Relations Office.
On the final day of the visit — April 16 — the Khazar University delegation was received at Koç University. The meetings there covered internationalization, scientific research cooperation, and the development of joint programs. Representatives from various faculties and the international relations structures of the university participated in the meetings and exchanged views on directions for cooperation.
The discussions held and agreements reached in the course of the visit indicate that significant outcomes have been achieved in terms of further strengthening academic ties between Khazar University and Türkiye’s leading universities, implementing new joint projects, and expanding international scientific cooperation.
