On November 21, 2023, the next meeting of the Scientific Council of Khazar University convened. The meeting commenced rector Assoc. Prof. Irada Khalilova presiding, presenting the outlined agenda items to the council members.
First, the rector brought to the attention of the council members that the dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences Elza Samadova was dismissed from her post on her own initiative and wished her success in her future activities. Prof. Acad.Hamlet Isakhanli, founder of Khazar University, chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, acknowledged Elza Samadova’s substantial contributions at Khazar University and honored her with a plaque of thanks on behalf of Khazar University.
The primary agenda item addressed the establishment of research centers at Khazar University, with the meeting’s chair emphasizing the active involvement of Prof.Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli in this endeavor and encouraging department heads to engage earnestly.
Regarding the second item, the chair elaborated on the preliminary steps for program accreditation, assigning specific tasks to department heads and fostering a discussion among council members, resulting in pertinent proposals.
The third agenda item involved the endorsement of dissertation subjects, based on certificates issued by the Problem Council. This matter underwent a comprehensive discussion, culminating in the council’s consensus. Subsequently, the chair granted the floor to the scientific secretary, who expounded on the minimum examination programs devised for the doctoral program—the fourth agenda item. The academic secretary provided thorough explanations for each program, prompting extensive input from council members on program design.
Ultimately, the Scientific Council reached conclusive decisions on all agenda items during the meeting.
