On April 17, 2017 international conference ,entitled “National and Cultural Identity in the Post-Soviet Azerbaijan” was held at Baku Slavic University.Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees also took part in opening and plenary sessions of the conference. Professor Hamlet Isakhanli conducted the panel after a break and made a presentation on “Historical Stages of the National Identity of Azerbaijan”.
On April 14, 2017, Professor Dusen Kaseinov, the chairman of TURKSOY-The International Organization of Turkic Culture met with Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees.
Hamlet Isakhanli was awarded a medal- “In commemoration of the 25th Anniversary of the Independence of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan “by Dusen Kuseinov.

Center for Eurasian Studies Writes on Relations between Khazar University and Abdullah Gul University

On April 11, 2017, representatives of the University of Kuala Lumpur visited Khazar University. The meeting took place at the Nefcthiler campus.
Representatives of the University of Kuala Lumpur included Prof. Dato Dr. Azanam Shah Hashim, Deputy President (Academic and Technology) and Associate Professor Dr. Sairul Izwan Bin Safie, Dean and Head of Campus. University of Kuala Lumpur is one of the leading private technical universities in Malaysia.
Khazar University was represented by the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli, Rector Dr. Hassan Niknafs, and Turan Jafarova, Director of International Affairs Office.
Areas of mutual collaboration, especially in the field of engineering was discussed. It was decided to sign a Memorandum of Understanding between the two universities.
On April 11, 2017, Gala concert for the Cultural Festival of Sumgayit school children was held in Sumgayit State Drama Theater with the coordination of Executive Power of Sumgayit City, Sumgayit Regional Department of Culture, Sumgait City Department of Education and Khazar University’s affiliate Dunya School’s Sumgayit branch.
Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, and Teymur Samedov, Deputy Head of Sumgayit City Executive Power, welcomed the participants of the concert and emphasized that Cultural Festival of Sumgayit school children is an important event in the life of the people of Sumgayit. Then they congratulated the 1st place winners of the festival and awarded them with valuable prizes.
Nailakhanim Isayeva, founder of Dunya School; Alovsat Amirbeyli, Director for Public Relations and Media; Mehman Shukurov, Head of Sumgayit Regional Department of Culture; Nizami Namazov, Head of Sumgayit City Department of Education; Marufe Madatli, Dunya School Director, and Munavar Bayramli, Dunya School’s Sumgayit branch director awared the 2nd and 3r place winners with certificates and prizes.
At the end of the event the winners introduced interesting performances.

On April 9, 2017, the “Elm üçbucağı” (Triangle of Science) program by Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, was broadcast on Public TV. The theme of the lecture during the broadcast was ‘European Academies’. Khazar University faculty and staff members also participated as audience members during the show.
On April 2, 2017, Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, was a guest on the “Reflecting on the Past” program of ATV. The program was hosted by Gunay Firudin qizi – Prof. Isaxanli answered her questions. He spoke about his scientific research and research in the humanities, his international activities, memories of his life, administrative tasks, his spiritual relationship to Nature and poetry.
On March 22-24, 2017, representatives of Khazar University participated in Eurasia Higher Education Summit (EURIE) organized by the Eurasian Universities Association (EURAS) in Istanbul, Turkey at Lütfi Kırdar International Convention Center (ICEC).
EURIE is a meeting point for representatives of universities and higher education professionals. The annual summit features an exhibition and a conference that allows participants to expand their knowledge, networks and collaboration opportunities.
Khazar University was represented by the Founder and the Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli, Director of Media and PR Office Mr. Alovsat Amirbayli, Director of International Affairs Office Ms. Turan Jafarova, and Khazar University graduate and master’s student of Istanbul Aydin University Narmin Nurulluyeva.
Prof. Hamlet Isaxanli made two speeches on “Education and Universities: Achievements and Challenges” at the event.
EURIE 2017 Summit brought together leading universities from 53 countries, including Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Iran, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Turkey, UK, USA, and others.
The program of the EURIE 2017 Summit included panel sessions, roundtable discussions, seminars by prominent speakers, thematic workshops as well as an education exhibition. The delegation from Khazar University participated in both the education exhibition and other summit events.
On March 16-20, 2017, Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, visited Morocco to attend the Crans Montana Forum organized under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammad VI, King of Morocco. Prof. Isaxanli’s invitation to the forum was initiated by Mohamed Adil Embarch, Ambassador of Morocco to Azerbaijan.
The conference took place in two phases: between March 16 and 18, in Dakhla, a city in the Western Sahara Coast of Morocco, and on board of a ship (Rhapsody) from March 19 to 21.
The forum brought together more than one thousand representatives from 130 countries, including the elite of Africa and people of arts and science. The forum highlighted the challenges of African integration and the role of Morocco in the development of Africa. Their discussion also focused on economics, education, environment, energy, youth, unemployment, sustainable development, and so on.
