Associate professor of Department of Languages and Cultures at a National Conference

Elnura Azizova, Associate professor of the Department of Languages and Cultures of Khazar University, participated in a scientific conference “Azerbaijan model of Islamic solidarity” held on December 14, 2017, organised by Central Scientific Library of Azerbaijan National Academy Of Sciences. Associate professor E.Azizova delivered a report entitled “Attitude towards different opinion in Islam” at the conference.

Ambassador of Malaysia sent a Letter of gratitude to Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli

Mr. Roslan Bin Abdul Rahman, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Malaysia sent a letter of gratitude to Prof. Hamlet Isakhanli, founder of Khazar University and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees for His assistance in organisation of the events at Khazar University within the framework of the 13th Academic Tour of the University of Malaysia Perlis on November 20-26, 2017.

A new film was demonstrated at Khazar University

The event, conducted with the demonstration of a new film, organized by the Mexican Embassy in Azerbaijan, on 13 December, 2017 at Khazar University was opened by the Director of Public Relations and Media of the University Alovsat Emirbeyli.

The Administrative representative on Trade and Economic Relations of the Embassy Kamran Mardanov welcomed the audience in the hall on behalf of the Mexican Ambassador and gave the students a brief information about the movie “We are Nobles” shot in the comedy genre.

At the end, he thanked the University Administration for his support on giving the opportunity for demonstrating the film.

The film, demonstrated in the “Marble Hall” of the University, was watched with great interest by the students of the faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and The faculty of Education.

EiLink Welcome Day

On December 12, an event entitled “eiLink Welcome Day” was held at Khazar University, Marble Hall. The event was dedicated to sharing the recent and emerging scientific projects at eiLink Research & Development Center at Khazar University. The event was attended by the instructors and students of School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and School of Economics and Management. Shahriyar Alkhasli, Izat Shahsanov and Vafa Ahmadzade, the PhD researchers of eiLink, delivered presentations at the event. 

Graduate of Khazar University was selected Head Secretary of AGF

As reported, Nurlana Mammadzada who got her Master’s Degree in English Language and Literature at Khazar University was selected to Head Secretary position of Azerbaijan Gymnastic Federation.

Let’s mention that N. Mammadzada worked as a Head Secretary’s assistant in 2007-2009, and from 2009 to present she worked as a vice (assistant, deputy) of federation.

An article of School of Economics and Management Staff Member in Scopus Indexed Journal

The research paper “The Relationship between Energy Consumption and Economic Growth: Evidence from Azerbaijan” by Dr. Shahriyar Mukhtarov, vice dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management at Khazar University, was published in International Journal of Energy Economics and Policy, No 6, Vol 7, 2017. The journal is indexed by SCOPUS, the prestigious abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature.

The study investigates the causal relationship between energy consumption and economic growth in Azerbaijan using annual data covering the period from 1990 to 2015. Toda-Yamamoto causality test framework of vector autoregressive (VAR) model was used to test causal relationship between the variables. The results of this test show that there is bidirectional causality between energy consumption and economic growth.

The course on “Revenue Management in Natural Resource-rich Countries” ends

The course “Revenue management in natural resource-rich countries” held by Eurasia Knowledge Center, Khazar University, ended on December 7, 2017. On the last day of the event, the 22 participants from 6 countries received relevant guidance on policy documents to be prepared at the next stage.

At the end of the event, Prof. Mahammad Nuriyev, Vice-rector of Khazar University, and Simone Haeberli, Deputy Regional Director of the Swiss Cooperation Office, presented certificates to the participants.

The participants noted that the course was very useful and thanked Khazar University for the conditions created. 

The Forum under the motto “Internet – the key of Innovation and progress” was held

On December 7, 2017, the ADA University in Azerbaijan, ADA University and the Ministry of Transport, The Ministry of Communication and High Technologies of the Azerbaijan Republic, the UN Geneva Secretariat for the Internet Governance Forum and the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, The 5th Regional Internet Governance Forum organized under the motto “Internet – the key of Innovation and progress” was held. The leaders of diplomatic corps of foreign countries operating in Azerbaijan, ministers, MPs, representatives of a number of universities, NGO leaders participated in the forum. Director of Public Social) Relations and Media Alovsat Amirbeyli participated at the opening ceremony of the forum.

4th Day of “I Chinese Week” on “Discover Traditional Chinese Games” is over

On 7 December, for the first time in Azerbaijan, “The First Chinese Week at Khazar University”, jointly organized by the Library-Information Center of Khazar University and Hanban/Confucius Institute was successfully closed with its fourth day titled “Discover Traditional Chinese Plays”. Li Ya, International Chinese language and Culture instructor of Khazar University and the staff of Confucius Institute actively participated in the closing ceremony of the Week, while prof. Gaojunxia demonstrated the students the Tai Chi – Chinese Martial Art.

Active students and teachers of Confucius Institute were complemented with presents at the end of the event.
